JB Wadley (1914-1989) was a pioneering cycling journalist whose work covered every aspect of cycling, but he had a special affection for the racing in Europe. He was the first British journalist to cover the Tour de France in full, as well as the great classics and other stage races. His early days were spent reporting for The Bicycle, but he is most famous for his work in and writing for Sporting Cyclist, the first British magazine to cover European professional road racing in depth.
This book is a collection of some of Wadley’s best work. It covers every aspect of cycling, from the Tour de France to cycle touring, and it is a pure joy to read. It’s out of print now, so copies like this are rare.
